The draws have been made, the winners have been notified, and the cheers are still echoing! The Friends of Somerset School Foundation (FSSF) is beyond thrilled to announce the results of the 2026 FSSF Sports Raffle. After weeks of ticket sales that brought our Calgary community together in the most wonderful way, the official draw took place on Thursday, May 28, 2026, right here at Somerset School.

"Every ticket sold is helping build a brand new playground at Somerset School — a place where children can play, families can gather, and the whole community can connect."

A Massive Thank You to Every Single Participant

Whether you purchased 3 tickets or 25, whether you shared the raffle link with your neighbours or encouraged colleagues to enter - you made this possible. The generosity and community spirit shown throughout this campaign has been truly humbling. Every dollar raised through the FSSF Sports Raffle goes directly toward the new Somerset School playground project, a partnership between the Friends of Somerset School Foundation and Parks Foundation Calgary.

This playground isn't just a school upgrade. It's a lasting gift to the entire Somerset neighbourhood — a safe, joyful outdoor space for children and families for years to come. Your participation is a direct investment in the health, happiness, and well-being of the next generation of Calgarians.

Playground project update: Thanks to the generosity of our community, the Friends of Somerset School Foundation continues to move closer to the goal of delivering a brand new playground at Somerset School. Every raffle ticket brought us one step closer. Stay tuned for future fundraising updates at friendsofsomerset.org.

About the FSSF Sports Raffle

Launched on April 8, 2026, the FSSF Sports Raffle offered Calgary-area residents a chance to win tickets to two of the city's most beloved sports franchises - the Calgary Hitmen of the WHL and the Calgary Roughnecksof the NLL. Hosted through Rafflebox, the raffle made participation fast, easy, and accessible to anyone across Alberta.

Tickets were priced affordably - from a 3-ticket bundle at $5 all the way up to 25 tickets for $20 -

so that everyone in the community could take part. The response was incredible, and we are so grateful for every single entry.

What Comes Next for the Somerset School Playground?

The raffle is just one piece of an ongoing community fundraising effort. The Friends of Somerset School Foundation continues to work hand-in-hand with Parks Foundation Calgary to bring this playground to life. The new outdoor space will serve Somerset School students and the wider community in Calgary's southwest, creating an accessible, vibrant gathering place for families of all backgrounds.

If you didn't get a chance to participate this time, or if you'd like to support the playground fund in other ways, we'd love to hear from you. Follow us on Facebook and check out our website to stay up to date on future events and fundraising opportunities.
